COCEDF Announced

COCEDF FORMED

The City of Central has three cornerstones that form the foundation of the community: family, faith, and education. These cornerstones represent the core values and principles that shape the identity and character of the City of Central and are the foundation future growth must be built. By maintaining this foundation, the City of Central strives to create an environment that promotes strong families, vibrant businesses, nurtures spirituality, and cultivates a knowledgeable and skilled citizenry.  The City of Central is aging, and with it, smart economic growth will be necessary to facilitate the investment required to maintain the cornerstones of family, faith, and education.

Mayor Evans took office in January of 2023.  One of his desires was to have a concentrated effort put forth on economic development that would help support the three cornerstones. Ron Erickson, who had been the City of Central Chamber of Commerce president, was contracted to help with this effort.  Recognizing the need for an organization to support economic development, in November of 2024, work began to form the City of Central Economic Development Foundation (COCEDF).   Articles were filed with the Secretary of State, Bylaws were written, a board was formed, an application for 501c3 nonprofit designation with the IRS was submitted, and in June 2025, the 501c3 nonprofit status was granted.

The City of Central Economic Development Foundation is excited to get this organization running to help our community continue to experience a high quality of life, have a vibrant, thriving business and retail sector, and a strong, well-trained workforce. In the weeks ahead, watch for more information on how businesses and citizens can be involved. Remember, we are better and stronger together!
